OpenJaw Technologies announce two new Chinese airline customers
Oct 17 2018 – MADRID: OpenJaw Technologies today announced two new Chinese customers, Chengdu Airlines and Tibet Airlines, as well as strong momentum in 2018 in China, with two Chinese airline customers going live this year – Hong Kong Airlines and China United Airlines. OpenJaw now has eight Chinese airline customers using the OpenJaw t-Retail Platform.
Chengdu Airlines, headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, have a fleet of 40 aircraft, flying to 27 domestic Chinese destinations. ‘Chengdu Airlines recently selected the OpenJaw t-Retail Platform. Chengdu partnered with OpenJaw and TravelSky to create a platform for Full Flight Selling, Manage My Booking and dynamic packaging. We are delighted to have chosen the OpenJaw t-Retail Platform to ensure that Chengdu Airlines have a full retailing capability for our domestic markets.’ said Chang Wang, Deputy GM of e-Commerce, Chengdu Airlines.
Tibet Airlines are based out of Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, flying to 24 destinations in China, Nepal, Thailand and Russia with 24 aircraft. The OpenJaw t-Retail Platform will allow Tibet Airlines customers to select from a range of air-related services such as seats and meals. It also enables the cross sell of a range of non-air products such as hotel and insurance into the booking path. ‘The rollout of the OpenJaw t-Retail Platform demonstrates the strong commitment of both OpenJaw and TravelSky to deliver full travel retailing capabilities to Tibet Airlines.’ said Rui Xiao, Deputy GM of e-Commerce, Tibet Airlines.
Hong Kong Airlines is a full-service airline flying 6 million passengers a year to over 30 destinations, with a combined fleet of 39 aircraft. ‘Hong Kong Airlines worked with OpenJaw and TravelSky to deploy the t-Retail Platform as part of our retail strategy to provide full flight selling and servicing. We will soon adopt flight ancillaries, international hotel packages, air pass offerings, and new payment suppliers. China United Airlines is a low-cost carrier based out of Beijing with 41 aircraft flying to 70 destinations. China United rolled out a full travel retailing programme using the OpenJaw t-Retail Platform. ‘We chose OpenJaw t-Retail Platform to deliver a complete retailing capability, including Full Flight Selling, Manage My Booking, ancillary bundling of seats, bags, and meals, as well as dynamic packaging. This was a complex project, as it included a multi-site, multi-language and multi-currency website.
