Standards
xDistributor supports the travel industry XML specifications developed by the OpenTravel™ Alliance
(Air, Car and Hotel) and Travel Technology Initiative(Tours, Rail). Other XML formats can also be supported providing
XML Schema or DTD definitions are available for the messages.
Data Translation
When integrating multiple suppliers, the data from certain suppliers may need to be translated to a common format.
This common format can be a message format specified by a body such as the OpenTravel™ Alliance (OTA) or Travel
Technology Initiative (TTI), or it can be a proprietary format. For suppliers who conform to the common format, no
translation is needed. For other suppliers, however, their data may need to be translated. OpenJaw supports XML to XML
translation and HTML to XML website scraping to integrate these non-conformant supplier interfaces with those
supporting the common format.
Connectivity
xDistributor fully supports XML Messaging using SOAP, ebXML and HTTP/HTTPS. Different transport types
and security settings can be configured for each connection to a supplier or client system.
Security
Typically, each supplier system will have unique security and authentication settings. xDistributor supports
username/password, unique IP Address and Digital Signature based security policies.
Legacy Interfaces
For legacy travel data interfaces such as EDI, ALC or structured messaging interfaces, OpenJaw can provide bespoke
software solutions to convert these interfaces to XML over SOAP or HTTP for integration with suppliers supporting XML.
Alternatively, standard data translation software tools can be used for this purpose.
Architecture
xDistributor is part of OpenJaw's end-to-end XML product suite for
travel distribution. It fully leverages the capabilities of the latest Java, XML and Web Services technologies. The
xDistributor service oriented architecture is highly scalable and fault tolerant and can be deployed on Windows, Linux,
Unix or Solaris.
