DUBLIN, IRELAND — 04 January 2017 – OpenJaw Technologies, a TravelSky company, today announced that that it has achieved Level 3 New Distribution Capability (NDC) certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Level 3 certification is the highest level of certification offered by IATA.
The NDC Standard transforms the way users shop for travel and enables airlines to transform the way air products are distributed. The OpenJaw t-Retail Platform supports the approved IATA NDC schemas for Shopping, Pricing, Order Creation and Retrieval, Payment, Document Issuance and Order Servicing. By adopting the NDC standard, OpenJaw’s airline customers can now better service passengers’ complete travel needs by dynamically retailing their complete flight and ancillary propositions across all distribution channels with just one platform: t-Retail.
Yanik Hoyles, Director, New Distribution Capability (NDC) Program, IATA, said, “By achieving Level 3 NDC Capable status as an IT provider, OpenJaw is demonstrating its commitment and capability to support airline retailing through the use of NDC standards. Already, 86 airlines have shared plans to deploy NDC in the near future, showing they recognise the potential value that can be derived from embracing the NDC standard and moving towards a new era of airline retailing.”
“As both an IATA Strategic Partner and member of the Passenger Distribution Management Group Working Group, OpenJaw has helped guide the creation of the data exchange standards for airline distribution and been active in the development of NDC since its inception, said OpenJaw Technologies, CEO, Kieron Branagan. “We are delighted to deliver NDC to customers which will see airlines, customers and partners benefit from extending their travel retailing strategy across the indirect channel.”
The benefits of the OpenJaw t-Retail Platform NDC messaging standard for customers include:
- A Single Platform: Seamlessly retail your all offers and propositions across all channels from a single platform.
- Rich Content Delivery: Create and present the same on-brand, content-rich ancillary offers to direct channels, to travel agents or to OTAs/TMCs that support NDC.
- Data-Driven Merchandising: Collect and use data (for example, profile information, loyalty membership, transaction history) to create personalised offers.
- Merchandising and Pricing Control: Support all pricing models including differential, promotional and revenue managed pricing.
