John Mc Quillan
Chief Executive Officer
John is one of the co-founders, along with Seán Mac Roibeáird and John Lambe, of OpenJaw Technologies and has been the Chief Executive Officer since the company’s foundation in 2002. He was one of the original developers of xDistributor, the Company’s core Integration Platform and Business Rules Engine which is now used by many of the world’s leading travel companies to integrate travel suppliers, manage distribution channels and dynamic packaging.
For over 20 years, John has been developing travel technology solutions for global travel organisations. During his career, he has worked with many of the world’s leading travel companies, including Airlines, Tour Operators and Online Travel Companies, gaining considerable insight into their specific industry requirements and providing expert advice on successful e-Commerce strategies.
As CEO, John has guided the Company through continual growth to being a global leader in delivering high performance travel distribution solutions to the travel industry.
John graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Electronic Engineering.
Seán MacRoibeáird
Chief Architect & Vice President of the Solutions Group
Seán is Senior Vice President of OpenJaw Technologies Solutions Group which is responsible for business analysis and solutions architecture as well as the Customer Support and OpenJaw University functions.
He is a leading expert in the architecture, design and development of mission critical large-scale travel distribution technology solutions based on OpenTravel XML messaging. He has spent multiple years working with some of the largest global travel companies. His expertise in Internet messaging protocols has been critical in the design and development of OpenJaw’s innovative product suite as well as the deployment of its solutions to some of the world’s leading Airlines, Tour Operators and Online Travel Agencies.
Seán graduated from Dublin City University with primary and masters degrees in computer science. After graduation, Seán held various roles with many leading communication companies gaining extensive experience in digital protocol development. Before co-founding OpenJaw Technologies, Seán held the position of Senior Architect in the Web Infrastructure group in Sun Microsytems where he played a leading role in the definition of web service and XML strategies.
Declan McGuinness
Senior Vice President of Sales
In his role as Senior Vice President of Sales, Declan is responsible for the global sales organisation at OpenJaw Technologies and for the execution of the company’s sales strategy. Declan has built a wealth of experience in Enterprise Solutions Selling and Key Account Management. He has worked with many of the world’s leading travel companies to help them achieve their ecommerce strategies through the application of the OpenJaw product portfolio.
Declan has been a career sales person since graduating from University College Dublin with a degree in Social Sciences. Having worked with USIT (the Student, Youth Independent Travel organisation), Declan held the position of Head of Sales for the Solutions and Consultancy Services Division of Ergo prior to joining OpenJaw. In March 2009, Declan was awarded a H. Dip in International Selling, part of Enterprise Ireland’s Executive Training Programme in conjunction with the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Ricardo Navarro Alés
Regional Director of OpenJaw Iberica and Latin America
Ricardo is the Regional Director of OpenJaw Iberica based at our offices in Madrid with responsibility for commercial strategy, customer relationships and project delivery within the Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American markets.
Ricardo has over 10 years experience in industry primarily in Software Development and Project Management having worked in both the Travel and Supply Chain sectors delivering enterprise scale projects to companies such as Iberia Airlines, Telefonica, BBVA Bank and Repsol.
Ricardo graduated from ICAI Comillas University with a Masters Degree in Electronics and also holds an MBA from Escuela de Organiazión Industrial, both in Madrid. Before setting up OpenJaw’s first regional office, Ricardo worked for Adquira Spain where he led the product development team responsible for new solutions and prior to this he worked with Datalex where he developed internet booking engines and travel systems.
Paul Byrne
Senior Vice President of Development
Paul is the Senior Vice-President of Development at OpenJaw Technologies. He heads up the in-house development team who are responsible for delivering OpenJaw’s high performance travel distribution solutions to many of the world’s leading travel companies. His expertise has led him to champion the company’s development best practices to deliver the highest quality products with the greatest operational efficiencies.
For over 20 years, Paul has been developing travel technology solutions for some of the largest global travel companies. He spent 5 of those years in Atlanta, where he led a team of developers who serviced major US clients such as Delta Airlines, ATA, Gelco, United Airlines, AeroMexico, Cendant and Best Western.
Paul graduated from Dublin City University with a first class honours degree in Computer Applications. Prior to joining OpenJaw Technologies, Paul led the customer team for Datalex which formed the basis of their enterprise leisure product offering.
Jappe Kjaer
Regional Director, OpenJaw Technologies Scandinavia AS
Jappe is the Regional Director of OpenJaw Technologies Scandinavia AS, based at our offices in Oslo with responsibility for commercial strategy, customer relationships and project delivery within the Norwegian, Swedish and Danish markets.
Jappe has over 20 years experience in the travel technology industry with particular expertise in hotel distribution channel management. For many years, he headed the Scandinavian subsidiary of Sulcus Hospitality Group (now Softbrands), one of the global leaders in hotel management systems.
In 1998, Jappe started a travel technology company, in2, that developed and successfully brought to market the in2Res product, one of the first true Internet based hotel reservation systems.
Before joining OpenJaw Technologies, Jappe was the Chief Technology Officer of Travel AS, based in Oslo, where he was responsible for the creation of a Scandinavian Travel Distribution Switch.
Jappe holds a degree in Hotel Management from the University of Stavanger.
